[Stable Update] 2017-04-15 - Kernels, Thunderbird, Firefox, Libreoffice

Hi community,

Manjaro is a wonderful project to be part of. To celebrate my birthday, our development team worked hard to stabilize a lot of packages for todays update.

We worked hard to get the latest Firefox and Thunderbird packages ready. Marcus adjusted his OpenRC packages to be more compatible to his change made to use elogind from now on. Bernhard reviewed a lot of Deepin packages and we created several release candidates of his edition to be tested by you, our community.

For our coding community we have the latest haskell packages as usual. For all using Manjaro productive we have the latest LibreOffice ready for your current projects. We also fixed some graphical drivers and updated to the latest Mesa-Stack. Last but not least we updated some of our multimedia codecs and most of our kernels to the latest releases.

Please give us feedback as usual and report any issues you may see with this update.

kind regards,
Philip MĂĽller and the Development Team

Can user control when Manjaro updates

Happy Birthday Philip
Can’t wait for Greek Mirror to get synced

Happy b-day!

My pamac was saying “Authentication failed”, so I ran in terminal:
sudo pacman -Syyu
and all went well.

Happy Birthday first and foremost!

Another flawless update on 2 machines. Thanks!

Happy Birthday!

Cheers! Mine was a week ago and I still have a hungover.:head_bandage:
Thank you, maintainers and staff! For the latest Inkscape and Krita bundled up in KDE (always forget to say that). I haven’t gotten the update so I can’t vote for now.

Thank you Phil and of course Happy Birthday. You chose a good weekend for it.

Things run well here after the update, as always, but I do have a question though.
Why is the mirrorlist rebuild every update. It takes a long time and I have it set the way I want it to be, just to find it changed again during the update.

Indeed - now I noticed - yeah I second that;
is there a reason (load balancing) or is it a mistake - as it even leads to “problems”. right now my install is ahead of the mirror - as I had netzspielplatz as first mirror before the update finished.

Happy birthday :gift: !
…ah, update, -all good!

tip top, no issues. Alles in Ordnung.

Always the same problem:
kernel 4.9.22 wifi rtl8192eu don’t work
kernel 4.10.10 wifi rtl8192eu work

the last 4.9 release working correctly with the wifi has been the 4.9.17.

Happy Easter  and Happy Birthday too

Happy Birthday @philm

the update went fine - without any problems.

Happy Birthday @philm
Update went nice and smooth on 4 machines.

Happy Birthday

This is the first time an upgrade have killed my sound. Don’t know why, but my built-in audio managed to turn itself on, and replace my USB sound card as the primary. It was a quick fix in pavucontrol (disable onboard audio, and re-enable usb sound).

Other than that, it have been a smooth ride!

Happy Birthday @philm

I use Manjaro OpenRC Xfce 16.06 x86_64 and can’t update. I think is a problem with OpenRC release:

make sure your mirror is in sync: http://repo.manjaro.org/

for me, update was fine on 2 computers

Happy Birthday Philip, hope you have a great day and thank for all you do as well as the rest of the team.

Happy Birthday Phil!!!

Happy Birthday @philm !
Update smooth as everytime.
