[Stable Update] 2017-03-06 - Mesa, Xorg-Server, Deepin, Tesseract, Plasma5

update
stable

#1

Hi community,

KDE releases a bugfix update to KDE Plasma 5.9.3. The bugfixes are typically small but important and include:

  • KSSHAskPass: Fix git ssh password detection.
  • Fix default fixed font in fonts kcm.
  • Fix crash when switching activities.

Some more updated Deepin, Bluez and Haskell packages round-up this update for today. Please test and give us feedback as usual

With Pamac v4.3 we added our AUR native support. This makes it easy for you to install AUR packages without the need of any AUR helpers.

The coding IDEs Lazarus and KDeveloper got a new release, we pushed out the latest latest Xorg-Server, updated some python, haskell and mythplugins. Last but not least our realtime kernel got updated to the lastest point-release available.

Please test and give us feedback as usual

kind regards
Philip Müller and the Manjaro Development Team

@mgundogdu read the following threads about “ACPI Errors”:

#6

Smooth KDE update, Plasma 5.9.3 fixes a couple of annoying bugs, thanks.

#7

I made some search before but I didn’t see those. Thanks. In fact, I dont have any issue everything works as expected. I just want to report

#8

A friend of mine, had a lot of ACPI errors whenever the system was booting, but it was working fine. What we did to fix it, was to update the BIOS/UEFI software, using the motherboards “Instant Flash” feature. After we did that, it has not shown these errors.

#9

No issues. 2 machines with KDE edition. Nice to see now “17.0 Gellivara” displayed by my Conky !

#10

Thanks for the response. I m checking some time but it seems any update. You are right maybe after some update this issue can be solved. Like your friend I have many ACPI errors but any issue on Manjaro by far -hibernation and suspension is good etc-

#11

Update was smooth as always on KDE. Only thing I recognized is, that quazip is depreciated and has moved to AUR. But it’s not required by any package, so I will remove it.

#12

…done. Intel core-i3, amd athlon k125, xfce, kernel 49, no issues.

thank you team-manjaro, have a nice day or night, where ever you are.

No problems updating.

It took longer to start cups than booting the rest of the system. 23 seconds.

So far so good here (XFCE), except two details :

  • a small visual glitch with LightDM and Arc-theme (oh my dearest GTK…) resulting in a kind of rectangular shape around the unlock button area. Not happening with Adwaita (oh GTK, I love you so when you break the themes…). I think I’ve read something similar some days ago, maybe I’ll investigate.
  • Filezilla entry in Whisker disappeared. I’ve tried to force reinstallation, but no results… Not a big deal since it perfectly launches otherwise.

Except those two minor things (not boring at all) thanks to whole team !

#16

Everything went smooth on my machine
now I can see 17.0 in screenfetch
awesome!

#17

This time it was not npm but apm complaining about conflicting files. Resolved it by doing a forced install of apm as described in

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/pacman#.22Failed_to_commit_transaction_.28conflicting_files.29.22_error

Everything fine otherwise.

#18

The native AUR support is much appreciated!

#19

Thanks for Updates, No Problem at all, just a question in my mind, are there any up-to-dated iso files to download? because I downloaded Manjaro 16.10.3 and I have to download almost ~1.4GB update while the Manjaro was 2.1 GB, It would be nice to have a weekly up-to-dated ISO on Sourceforge (removing old ones every 2 weeks for example).

#20

The next set of isos are being worked on at the moment. If you are interested you can try out one of the release candidates: Manjaro XFCE (17.0-rc3)

New stable isos are released every few months, more often would be excessive.
