After uninstalling the nvidia and nvidia-utils Packages for my installed Kernels, I can install the Fix and Kernel 4.9 is starting without Problems now.

Do we still have issues with the nvidia driver or do you use now nvidia-340xx series. I thought nvidia was fine for linux49 and only the legacy had issues. On my end nvidia works.

#63

Not a manjaro issue, but just an FYI for anyone updating the flashplugin package you will lose the ability to play DRM protected flash content. With the Flash 11 version you can install the hal stub and use flash with Firefox to play that content, but not so with the new update.

#64

Had only the “Driver ‘nvidia’ is already registered, aborting…” Error at Kernel 4.9 Startup.
With other Kernels the Driver is working fine.
With the Fix, Kernel 4.9 is also fine.

The Hardware is an old GTS 360M in an Toshiba Qosmio X500 Series NB.
Nouveau Driver is not working on this System.

I must uninstall the Packages first, while the Fixed Version conflicts with older Kernel 4.8 nvidia-utils Package.

I’m not seeing this with the Nvidia legacy 304.xxx drivers. The latest driver update corrected the 4.9 startup error. The most recent Nvidia updates are now working well with all three kernels I have installed, 44-lts, 48, and 49 without having to uninstall anything, just accepting the updated drivers when they were proposed.

Now, with this update https://forum.manjaro.org/t/stable-update-2016-12-31-kernels-libreoffice-kde5-virtualbox-cinnamon-budgie/14906/96 my problem is solved

I don´t know, what fixed my problem in detail, but now there are no problems with shutdown and all works fine with kernel 4.9.0.1
