I previously had my menu in the titlebar - and I can’t remember how I did this, now I re-installed and can’t figure out how I did it.
Any clues?
Probably an extension?

I suspect what you’re looking for is System settings > Application style > Window decoratrions > Titlebar buttons tab.
Application menu option.

I found it!!!
material-kwin-decoration-git
then apply the Material border, then in settings/decorations, add the ‘Application Menu’ button to the titlebar… It only works with Material - but that’s fine and it follows the color scheme (here’s my ‘library’ colors) as with the ‘Breeze-Chameleon Light’ icons, they change colour to match the scheme too.
