I am encountering a strange issue playing music thru Cantata/Deadbeef etc. My soundcard is working fine using a browser ( Brave/Firefox) but I cannot get audio from any music programme. I can select a track to listen to , the track appears to be playing but there is no sound.
Solved- I hadn’t thought to check the sound applet. Turns out the volume for Deadbeef was set to 0.
