Sometimes manjaro reboot instead of sleeping or suspend, but not always

Hello,
As described in the title, sometimes my computer reboot instead of sleeping. I don’t find why. I expected it to be solved with my suspend problem, but actually not. It seems it is two different things.

If needed :

Thanks

I guess it tries to go to energy-save but will be instantly awakened, by a module e.g. USB … try to see in the bios what devices can wake up the computer, and disable them. Often could be also a broken touchpad or something, but make sure they do not wake up the system.

Interesting. When I do

journalctl -xeb  ✔

Does this “touchegg.desktop“ have something to do with the touchpad and can it be the source of the problem ?

in the scenario, that the computer restarts, and wakes instantly, I do not see that Linux -System is
involved in any way. at that point the bios is acting, if it seems to you as if it reboots

I tried to replace name=touchégg by name=touchegg in touchegg.desktop and I sudo systemctl restart touchegg. I don’t have the error message anymore. I tried to sleep. It worked. But it work most of the time. I will still check the UEFI.

could be a good move, I did not see that name mismatch…

  1. kernel 5.13 is EOL, you should switch to a newer one or to an LTS one
  2. that’s quite an old version of 5.13 - the latest one was 5.13.19 IIRC - you should update more often…

Ok, it didn’t work. And I didn’t find anything in the UEFI about device allowed to wake up the system.

@freggel.doe : yes, sorry, I was lazy and I copied from the other topic rather than from the terminal. I am on the LTS one now, and the system is updated.

Still nobody ?

Hello.
The problem is still here and I am still looking for help. Does somebody have another idea ?

try changing grub parameters:

sudo /etc/default/grub

change GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_sleep=nonvs"

update grub:

sudo update-grub

:crossed_fingers:

Thanks. I tried, and I will update the topic in function.

Just, can you explain what this line is supposed to change ?

Update : it didn’t solve the problem.
