Something eating up my disk space. Please, help!

Hi everyone! Recently I started having problems with eating memory. After booting the system, the disk usage analyzer shows the available memory as it is, but after about 30 minutes the memory decreases (about 2 GB per minute). At this time, the system starts to hang hard and hardly responds to commands. When the scale approaches 10 gigabytes, a notification appears “the volue filesystem root has only 0 bytes disk space remaining”. The scale reaches 0 gigabytes available and then is restored to the original mark (when everything is “ok”). Then the system starts working normally again. But another 30 minutes pass and this process starts over again. I’m wondering what is this bug related to and how to fix it? I’m not a programmer. The only thing I changed was the kernel, but it didn’t help solve the problem. Here’s what the command shows:

–after reboot–
df -h
df: /run/user/1000/doc: Operation not permitted
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
dev 16G 0 16G 0% /dev
run 16G 31M 16G 1% /run

thanks for the post, did you install/update/upgrade previously?
