Some websites display - ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED only on wired connection

This is bound to get you into trouble - NEVER ever assign same IP to different NIC

The router maps the IP to the NIC MAC and when you change the MAC but not the IP packets will drop as the router gets confused.

This is a browser message - and while it may indicate you internet connection is down - it may simply be the browser misinterpreting the situation.

E.g. if the browser cannot connect to a cdn - it may think your connection is at fault - no matter the cause - e.g. the addressing issue you have.

Although - likely not needed after you fix the above

  • Exchange your cable and check it is properly seated.
  • If you created the cable yourself - ensure the connectors is properly crimped.

While i agree with this statement, it is only relevant when those NIC’s are activated at same time
Otherwise the router should be able to fix the routing automatically because it will only see one of the NIC’s…

This topic is so confused by the OP’ers provided info and wording, which makes us confused just as much as like the router is in this case with the NIC’s

The topic started as a “404” problem, then evolved into an IP problem, just wait till it evolvs into a “Bonding” problem where the OP explains that it actually wanted to use both wired and wireless at same time…

We can only wait for OP to explain the equal IP addresses. Until then :woman_shrugging:
