Issues with Broadcom BCM4365 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller 6.30.223.271 (r587334)

Hi @Wollie,
I am on linux54, the linux54-broadcom-wl does not work on my wifi hardware and it does work under linux419-broadcom-wl.
I have reinstalled the driver on linux54 without success.
Do you think I have to install linux54-headers, the broadcom-wl-dkms and remove the linux54-broadcom-wl packages?
Here is the output I found, I think the driver BCM43142A0 under linux54 is not well recognized.

sudo dmesg | grep BCM

I also have a TP-Link tl-wn722n usb wifi dongle attached and it works on both kernels.

Regards,

Can you please explain in detail what exactly is currently your problem?

Hi, @Wollie,
After the last stable update the wifi connection does not appear in the Network Manager when using the linux54 kernel, but it does appear when I start on the linux419 kernel.
I am not the only guy who reported this problem on the announcement thread. You can see them on these two posts.
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/re-wi-fi-not-working-properly/46551
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/stable-update-2020-12-30-kernels-kde-cinnamon-libreoffice-python-3-9-mesa-20-3-1/45364/446´

Maybe, because of the large amount of issues realated to the nvidia drivers I have no responses. Then I saw your post and I believe you can help me.
Regards,

When you have no issues on kernel 4.19 stay on that kernel and wait until it’s (hopefully) fixed on newer kernels. 4.19 still gets updates, so there is no need to switch to a newer kernel.

also if i remove 5.9x and 5.10 and then remove and reinstall 5.4 it works. as the latest manja 20.1 installs the 5.9 kernel the broadcom 54 wl gets blacklisted as being conflicting with linux59 -wl…oops cant say that anymore it gets sideswiped.
