Linux Kernel 5.10-rc5 fails to boot

Kernel 5.10-rc5 fails to boot
Kernel 5.10-rc4 successfully booted

The message after trying to boot is:

Failed to start Load Kernel Modules.

Emergency root console cannot be opened, follow-up error is:

Cannot open access to console
as the root account is locked

Journalctl -xb-1 has to say this fatal errors:

Nov 28 09:20:46 ebola mount[332]: mount: /boot/efi: unknown filesystem type ‘vfat’.
Nov 28 09:20:46 ebola systemd[1]: boot-efi.mount: Mount process exited, code=exited, status=32/n/a
Nov 28 09:20:46 ebola systemd[1]: boot-efi.mount: Failed with result ‘exit-code’.
Nov 28 09:20:46 ebola systemd[1]: Failed to mount /boot/efi.

and

Nov 28 09:21:02 ebola systemd-modules-load[476]: Failed to look up module alias ‘crypto_user’: Function not implemented
Nov 28 09:21:02 ebola systemd-modules-load[476]: Failed to look up module alias ‘uinput’: Function not implemented

I don’t know which one of the two fatal error messages causes the system not to boot up properly

Also reported to Arch as FS#68767 : Kernel 5.10-rc5 fails to boot

RC kernels could and will fail till they reach maturity.

Do not worry, kernel developers know. Use a stable kernel for your system.

I had the same issue but when going from 5.10 back to 5.9. I had to boot into 5.10, reinstall 5.9, and then boot back into 5.9.
