Wifi unstable? works strangely, turns off under conditions

Manjaro and Windows are both installed on my laptop, Windows is doing okay with wifi connections.
When I boot Manjaro, wifi works just okay, I can browse web for example in Mozilla Firefox but when I try to update something through Package Manager (Manjaro was installed half a year ago, I wasn’t using it for a long time, 974 updates have accumulated), it feels like wifi adapter turns off: my laptop is unable to find and connect to any wifi network, and instead of wifi symbol in tray, there’s symbol of wired connection. Problem seems to solve itself when I boot Windows and then boot Manjaro again, but if I start updating something again - wifi will lose connection and won’t see any networks again. I’d like to get some help on this problem. I am almost completely new to Linux and Manjaro, please exercise patience)

Have you checked that the fastboot option is turned off in windows?

Hello!
Fastboot option in Windows was on, now it’s off, and now wifi on Manjaro seems more stable, at least it didn’t turn off as soon as I started updating things, thanks. Now there’s a problem that “Download of bashrc-manjaro (5.1.0-2) started”, but network load is very low, seems like nothing is being downloaded, updating stopped. Is it now working with hard drive, and I just need to wait, or what?

Everything else works just fine, I write this on Manjaro OS, wi-fi connection is good, but now there’s this thing I described. We can move to another topic because this one is already answered, if that’ll be more convenient

Since it was a long time since you updated, you schould update the mirrors in software update → settings or run this command: sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack 5 in a terminal.

Now when I attempt to update, it goes like “Waiting for another package manager to quit”. I guess I can reboot and it will solve this, but it’s way too much, maybe there’s something else I can do?

Then there is another update proces still running. Let that one complete, sometimes it can take a while and 6 months of updates can be alot.

Hey…just curious…but why would it affect manjaro?

No expert but as I understand it: Not so much manjaro but other operating systems on the same machine. The fastboot option lets the hardware ‘sleep’ or be in standby mode. When booting windows it does not have to wait for all the hardware to initialize and boots faster as a consequence.

When booting another OS the wifi chip or network card is the ‘wrong mode’ to be used completely and these kind of situations can occur.
