[SOLVED] Lightdm-deepin-greeter segmentation fault

Roughly a year ago I switched from Windows to Manjaro Deepin.
(Felt like coming home after 20 years... used IRIX on SGIs back then).
Everything worked fine until around November when I suddenly could not log in as the greeter screen did not appeared.
I figured out that the lightdm-deepin-greeter is causing a segmentation fault.
I installed the gtk-greeter and continued to use the machine this way.
The small On/Off Icon in the lower right corner of the desktop (Shutdown, restart, suspend, etc.) is not working since then as it probably tied to the greeter.
After every update I tested if it's working again but it did not.

Is there some sort of debug function for the deeepin-greeter?
Are there any options which I could put in the configuration to see where the problem is?

Thanks for any Help.
Steve

You could try to replace dubus package with dbus-x11 and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it still crashes.

seat0-greeter.log:

2019-04-21, 15:03:05.908 [Debug  ] [lockworker.cpp       LockWorker::recoveryUserKBState     582] restore numlock status to  false
/etc/deepin/greeters.d/lightdm-deepin-greeter: Zeile 3: 1137 Speicherzugriffsfehler (Speicherabzug geschrieben) /usr/bin/lightdm-deepin-greeter

Funny that it switched back to German although system Language is still English.
(Speicherabzug geschrieben means core dumped.)

but are you using the GTK version of LightDM or lightdm-deepin-greeter now ?

I'm using the Deepin Desktop and would like to use the deepin greeter as well.
I only switched to the GTK greeter to be able to use the graphic system.
It was working a couple of months then it suddenly broke down.
I don't know what was the cause of that. Maybe a system update?

deepin comes with its own implementation of greeter, the packages you need for this are:

lightdm
liblightdm-qt5
deepin-session-ui

just add, you don't need to modify any files for it to work.

All of these packages are already installed. It was working for some months but something broke it.
Is there a way to see at which point /usr/bin/lightdm-deepin-greeter crashes.
According to the above log, it's after it tries to set the numloc to off.

In terminal:

sudo journalctl -p 3 -xb
or
dmesg

sudo journalctl -p 3 -xb:

Seems like a lot of errors, just don't know how to handle them...

Today I can not login, no deepin greeter.
In tty sudo lightdm my deepin login start. Only "sudo" lightdm. startx failed.

sudo lightdm –-test-mode --debug

Thanks for the tip!

Lightdm was searching for another greeter than the one installed.
On /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf I had to add explicitly the greeter by adding this line on the [Seat:*] section:
greeter-session=lightdm-slick-greeter

I changed from

greeter-session=lightdm-deepin-greeter

to

greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter

Deepin start. But deepin-greeter login (blur blue see) not.

I am back to lightdm-deepin-greeter , work

Just to close my topic: yesterday there was a 2.6 GB system update and today when I opened up my notebook I was greeted by the Deepin Greeter! Miracles Happen!

Great System and many great contributors. Thanks for your work!

Cheers,
Steve
