[Solved] Killer Wireless-AC 1550i Adapter (9560NGW) not work

I asked the question Killer Networks, on the website of Intel it is directly written on vprosa of support of Killer Wireless 1550 to address Killer Networks. I received the response that only Windows is supported and there is no time and an opportunity to be engaged in integration into Linux.
I got on the forum Ubuntu, there I found the same lucky who was helped by one one of moderators of a forum. The decision for support of Killer Wirelles AC 1550 from Intel:

sudo apt-get install git
git clone https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/iwlwifi/backport-iwlwifi.git/tree/
cd backport-iwlwifi
make defconfig-iwlwifi-public
make -j4
sudo make install

I still couldn’t notice that specific DID, but it’s not unlikely that in the worst case scenario just adding a line for 1a56 in 4.17 sources could be enough.

Right direction.

All many thanks!:relaxed:

Well, the question is if commit a3ef483 applies cleanly to v4.17+ or not. The other commit is already in v4.17-rc1 and can be tested by simply installing it.

The way @wargblaze described it, is to install the driver as an extramodule. Would be interesting which file output you might see in the console. When I find time I’ll try out more.

Seems the patch applies to today’s v4.17 git-snapshot. I’ll compile it and upload it as needed to our unstable branch. Additionally I try to backport it to older kernels with regular kernel updates scheduled for tomorrow late afternoon.

Hi, may I ask your favour?

I tried to download the git that you posted, but somehow because of size issue I couldn’t and I have no idea how to use the source after I edit.

Please give me some clues for a noob.

This is not noob-friendly stuff.

Wait for support to be added to the kernels. Or buy another wifi adapter.

Currently the drivers are added to the latest linux417 kernel. Currently I’m building a new set of packages and will backport it also to v4.14 and v4.16 series. All of those will be available in todays unstable update and may be added to tomorrows testing update.

I just got an answer from the killer company and they said the driver support is not on their timetable.

Are you making it by yourself?

When you are done where should I go to find to download it?

Thanks for your endeavour!!

The driver is now available in following kernel series: v4.17, v4.16, v4.14. Please switch either to testing or unstable branch to get the new kernel releases supporting this wifi card. Feedback is highly appreciated.

Please switch to unstable and upgarde kernel:

sudo pacman-mirrors --country Bulgaria Denmark Czech Germany France --api --set-branch unstable -P https; sudo pacman -Syyu

sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux417
