Accidentally put MBR on storage drive

My storage drive was selected for installation of OS and storage of MBR. I started first install attempt before I noticed that storage drive was selected for install and quickly got a pop up message. Don’t recall the text but noticed wrong drive selected and then picked the correct drive. I hadn’t yet noticed storage drive was still selected for boot location. Now I cannot access any of those saved files and I cannot open a drive folder to view contents. Is there a way to undo my error?

I would install testdisk and try to recover the MBR of your storage drive:

Thanks.

Always buy another Backup drive, just in case… something goes wrong. You will regret it… sooner or later, if you have files that can’t easy replaced.
