software down-loader has super slow download speeds even though web browsing has much faster speeds. what could be wrong?

so, i got an error message. it was not able to synchronize all packages and it said (unable to lock database)

run these:
sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
Update the system:
sudo pacman -Syyu

I ran those commands and everything executed well. i then ran the previous command and it executed. Add/Remove Software has good download speeds now too. thank you for your help. have a good day
