Shutdown always reboots

After installing Manjaro freshly in a dual boot with Win 10, (on which I do not rely or depend on) I see two problems.
My PCI network card first didnt work, which I solved in a way that I switched from on board and unbloacked the 8139 and a broadbandcheck made it look as if its reliable enough.
And the second issue is:
It cannot shutdown.
It will reboot immediately. aLWAYS.
Maybe asetting on myx bios?
I have an SSD runniung with AHCi

Post

$ sudo journalctl | grep 'reboot\|poweroff'
$ inxi -Fxxxz

Moved to newbie-corner.

Also, have you tried shutting down using a command from the terminal?:

sudo shutdown now

$ systemctl poweroff -i

Try disabling wake on lan in uefi first, then disable fast boot in windows

Hi,
tahnks so much for the many advices, I will try all. I have a little problem with not getting into BIOS anymore, need to find a trick or other keys to strike. And sorry, that I didnt give information in first post, I was tired after a hard day, but felt to post my problem as early as possible.

Here is a complete output of lshw saved in a google doc

This worked cleanly now, without a problem it shut down and stayed off.

Fast boot might be still off, I will take a look for this, but the mainboard is so old it has no UEFI

This also cleanly worked.
Will post the out put again of journal about it, as it has new entries now of course.

Nice, I wasnt knowing how EDITING works.

So, overall, my storyx was, that after running Debian derviates/ Ubuntu derivates for over ten years now. And my initial intention was to use my old machine with an SSD with Windows 10, cause it should give it a push in speed. But not much worked. Finally windows 10 only made problems and shut down suddenly, often and without a visible cause.
Then I looked for a change. I wanted to give Win 10 a chance later over dual boot, when my hardware will be renewed. And I went on and looked for Elementory, Joly, Zorin, etc... All brand new nice stuff on Ubuntu bases. But I also looked at Fedora a bit. Used new laptops, old Thinkpad e100 and my system for checking all the latter.

Then finally I was able to give Arch a chance. Used Manjaro and I was immediately flashed by the selection of ready tools available, the clear documentatin everywhere and ,... by you guys. I never was getting such delightfull feedback anywhere eles. I also avoid german forums around topics like Woprdpress or Joomla ( which I stopped uising out reason of avoiding quarreling posts back in 2008). And while I searched the forum here without finding appropriate solution first, I posted my broken request and no one was mocking, like "why did you not look around and why do you not use this and that" without giving solutions. But Here you just posted all that helped me already. And then my mind got back set to using linux, only. I love to be here.

I went into windows 10 today first time for over a week after using Manjaro and after I have watched it certainly a while, it didnt behave as it was behaving before... no interruptions with sudden shutdowns anymore.
I think my dual boot with arch healed it. The guys from Gigabyte told me week before last: "Forget windows 10 on this mainboard" and I said "No, I will try."
And after Manjaro installation and fixes and usage, the Windows 10 now behaves quite normal. :grin:

I believe in the "Ghost in the machine" if You know what I mean. And after all, I think my journey on the long quest for the right linux suddenly ended, here in Manjaro.
I think I can help to contribute to the community, I want to know where my help is needed please.

This project must live and survive, Manjaro is fantastic, out of of a hundred reasons, not only those I mentioned today.

Instead of writing novels here, better edit your unreadable posts.
I am out of here.

Ok, but how can I re-edit my already written post?

ok. I still dont know how..

Hi,
I did as you told me in the copied text from @linux-aarhus
But this created a new post. so, Have I never got a chance to edit a post I made b4 ?
But I know now how format at least.

Hi,
the problem is solved. It was most propably the setting PME Event wakeup

I saw the same behaviour on windows. And after I plugged another keyboard in and could enter the BIOS again I disabled the three wake up settings.
