Got another crash while fans were running at 5k rpm and temperature was below dangerous levels. I honestly think the fan/overheating issue is related but not the whole story.
Probably unrelated, but I’ve found out that the dedicated graphics card is not used at all. Apparently when my computer heats up while gaming it is due to ~5% cpu utilization and 0% video card utilization…
Seeing there’s evidence the fans do work (clearly lowers temp when they kick on) and the laptop crashed again without temperature being high, I feel like the source of the problem isn’t the fans.
Nevermind, I accidentally booted back into a newer kernel. Everything is almost good in 5.4.
