Second Monitor is Black Despite receiving Signal and Showing on Xrandr

I have a second monitor that is hooked up to HDMI for my GPU. It has been working fine up until today. It is completely black and when I power cycle it only flickers on for a second before reverting to black. The LED indicator shows blue, indicating that it is receiving a signal and data from the GPU (it’s amber when it is asleep or not receiving data). When I use xrandr it displays the fact that I have an HDMI output so that all seems normal. It may be that the monitor is old but I don’t think so as it works in windows the last time I checked (2 days ago, and I’d check now but I need to leave it on for work until Thursday at least). Here is my xrandr:

xrandr output shows the monitor is at the left. Have you tried moving your muse all the way to the left?

Yeah and it does go off screen to the other monitor but obviously I can’t see the cursor once it’s there.

Someone posted a comment that said something about shining a light and seeing if I can see a faint image. It looks like there’s ever so slightly an outline of the window I have open on that monitor. That would mean it’s a broken backlight, right?

Just in case, check color and gamma settings. But yeah, it seems the monitor has gone kaput.
