Screen turns black and fan goes crazy

I am currently using kernel 5.4.124- 1

I perceive it as if the screen shuts down randomly but the fan in the computer starts to run at high speed, just as it usually does when it is starting up but never does when it is on. The computer does not turn off or reboot, the screen only turns black and the fan goes crazy

Should I just switch kernel?

(I do not know if I ask in the right forum, but I guess it is kernel related because of the journal output)

Thanks!

it’s always tricky with nvidia.
you are running an old kernel though, with proprietary gpu’s newer tends to be better.

Yes it seems to be…
Hm, in my kernel settings it is the latest LTS version that is recommended
Do you think that I should use properietary driver, is that what you mean?

Sorry my bad, will install latest kernel now

you sure it’s not just going into sleep mode.
have you tried turning off power management in settings.

I am almost sure , when it goes to sleep mode, the fan doesn´t sound like that for very long time as it does when this happen.
I don´t know how long the fan goes on very loud, because I always turn my computer of , then start. Often It Is not an issue and everything goes smooth but sometimes it is happening

I have installed latest LTS kernel now and I hope It go well. Thank you for your time!

good luck, hope it works, fingers crossed.

Unfortunately something is still wrong, do you think that is a driver issue?

i think i2c is the temp monitor?

Honestly I have no idea , I need to check it up, but if it is, what do you think the problem is?

could it be overheating ?
when was the last time you cleaned the internals ?

Yeah maybe. I Will do It.
I dont rememeber, so probably too long ago… but I think it seems to be not so unclean, like no dust att all.
But I Will give it a try

Thank you!
It was so simple… Just clean and change kernel
