Screen stretches upon startup

I have no idea to describe what it looks like other than a screenshot that I would link, but it doesn’t seem like I have permission to; it’s at:

It consistently appears after starting up after not opening the laptop for a while. It also consistently disappears upon a restart. Screenshots taken while the screen is stretched look normal. Xorg logs between a stretched session and a non-stretched session differ only with the numbers in the brackets. Not sure where to begin diagnosing the issue. Here’s inxi -Fazy:
