Hi,
I have an old monitor with a VGA port connected to the laptop with a cable to be an external monitor. One side of the cable is the VGA adaptor, and another side is the HDMI adaptor. If the laptop starts from a cold boot, the monitor shows no signal, and it is blank. After the system boots up, do hot-plug the HDMI adaptor, and the monitor works fine, after this, if you do a warm reboot, the monitor still stays at the work fine status.
