Rtl8821ce wireless adapter not working

I have been in your situation until 2 days ago. Here are some relevant threads:

No network with rtl8821ce after latest stable update

After removing linux59 and switching to the testing branch, the latest kernel update re-enabled Wi-Fi. It took some time / a few reboots after the update before it worked again though. I have no idea what is going on with this driver and the kernel.

TL;DR nobody seems to know why it is happening. Wi-Fi seems to come back shortly after a kernel update.
