Need help finding keyboard shortcuts

I’ve tried searching the internet and the forum. Can someone provide me with a list of keyboard shortcuts and tell me how to change them?

System Settings > Workspace > Shortcuts > Shortcuts // Custom Shortcuts

What do I do when I’m on that screen? Was looking through it and not sure what to do

Click on the shortcut you want to change.

For example … to change the Log Out shortcut …
Click Session Management > Log Out
Then add desired shortcut and/or remove the existing one.

Conversely to view them You can use the interface to click each one or you can use the “Export Scheme…” button and view the resulting file.

You can also use the search bar at the top using either the description or the key combination.

This is what I get when I go to custom shortcuts. For clarification I when I say shortcuts I mean shortcuts such as cntrl+shift+c.

Which is only for adding your own … er … Custom Shortcuts.

The section above labeled “Shortcuts” holds all the existing system shortcuts.

Or if you just start typing “Shortcut” from the desktop application launcher … select “Shortcuts” …

In what context? I dont believe thats a system-wide shortcut … perhaps you mean your terminal ?
(if so … consult your terminal, for Konsole ex: Settings > Configure Keyboard Shortcuts)
Application-specific shortcuts will largely be handled by the application itself.

I was not aware that the keyboard shortcuts are different in konsole. How do I find those?

So in Konsole … select “Settings” from the menu … then select “Configure Keyboard Shortcuts” from the drop down.

Then you may interact with that dialogue the same as guided above … for example, to search for your combination:

Then you can select it, modify it, etc.

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I’m looking for

Great.
But because we are talking about this combination for copying … let me quickly make note that the reason it is Ctrl+Shift+c is because Ctrl+c is a kernel console combination … it translates to ^C which will be interpereted as an interrupt.
All of that is really just to say…
You likely do not want to attempt to configure this shortcut to Ctrl+c.

Cheers.

Ok that’s good to know, thank you for the info

In mate-terminal and guake it’s also bound to Ctrl+Alt+C.

When you bind Copy to Ctrl+C the interrupt is automatically rebound to Ctrl+Shift+C. Of course Ctrl+Alt+C will still work too.

There’s no option to rebind the interrupt directly.

They both use vte, so it should probably work with any vte based terminal. I don’t know if konsole and yakuake have similar functionality.

Huh, didnt know that. Must be some modern nicety
