I put my iso as the file on etcher and the target is the usb flash drive and it flashes and verifies and it says it’s done.
i hope thats enough to clarify
Yes that is
. But then why on earth is Mint booting?
Silly question, but did you select the USB from boot-menu correctly?
lol!? it even says successfultarget lol
that’s a great question the only thing I saw clearly on my boot menu after hiting f12 alot was ubuntu whivh linux is based off of. would it say specifically manjaro? on the boot
In BIOS/UEFI do you have Boot from USB or something similar enabled?
Are you sure your not just booting into your mint installation? Try editing your boot menu so your usb drive is the first boot option
thank yuou jr as a matter of fact i Did choose boot from usb so I could make sure it works with my computer first if it’s what you mean and thank you saw doctor i saw that option!
Did Manjaro boot?
In UEFI/BIOS is:
SecureBoot off
Fast Boot off
No CSM
all disks on AHCI
No optane/rst
unfortunately friends my cinnamon mint booted from the usb drive boot. alsothere was ipv4 and an ipv6 boot whicch all ran cinnamon mint just fine except I used to balena etcher to clear it all off and flash manjaro so I’m confused.
it’s pretty funny because it shouldn’t even be able to run cinnamon right now!
Do you have any other computer? If yes, then try booting the live usb in that machine (what worse would happen!
)
great idea!
i do have another laptop with cinnamon too.
the computer I was tryingn to download this on wouldn’t recofnize manjaro at all from the usb stick it jsut kept loading cinnamon which I suppose its just not going to recognize manjaro for some unkown reason but my other laptop has picked it up and I am installing it there
is it a common issue?
maybe I will have to try another manjaro distribution but, thank you all for your help I know more what to do now!!!
