If your eMMC is empty, it should boot from SD just fine.
My eMMC is already flashed, looking for the simplest way to reflash. I have a microSD with Manjaro installed.
Not sure that the eMMC is hot pluggable, so the safest bet would be to use an eMMC adapter.
