Linux S3 never worked with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (popos) either.

Yours is a completely different system than the original poster’s and therefore this is unlikely to be (at least totally) related. Different hardware, different desktop environment, diferent software versions etc…
I would like to kindly advise you to start your own thread and provide as much relevant information as you can, starting with basic system details like inxi -zv8 (highlight the pasted output of this, and click the </> button at the top of the reply window, to format the inxi output and make it more readable).
It may be caused by a systemd feature which is default enabled.
I went into the bios and just set Windows + Linux for now. It may be a Thinkpad bios thing, who knows.
