Red Exclamation Over Wifi Network

Hello, I have held off from updating my system for a long time now due to this issue and was hoping the updating now would finally solve the issue but it still persists. I can’t connect to my home wifi with manjaro and only manjaro. Everything else connects just fine.

Here is a picture of what appears in the network manager. (Remove the spaces in the link for it to work)
https:// ibb. co/ v4LkfY4

When trying to connect it disconnects immediately. In the network log it says
config → failed (reason ‘supplicant-failed’, sys-iface-state: ‘managed’)
failure to add network: invalid message format

I did see one solution being to downgrade wpa_supplicant to 2.9 version but apparently to ensure I go insane manjaro has made it only downgrade to 2.10 and no further.

I still have the Manjaro Live USB (which does connect to the wifi fine) to reinstall onto my system again but I’m tired of updating to see if it works now only to then reset my entire system all over again. Please tell me there is a solution to this.

please post the output of

first. use the preformatted option and insert it there. any pics have no valuable info.

please check the antenna-connection first and make sure that there is no failure

Hi and welcome to the forum :+1:

Also pls perform these commands:

alias xclip='xclip -selection clipboard'
journalctl --no-pager --unit=wpa_supplicant | xclip

Then paste what is copied in your clipboard inside code tags like this:

``` ⇐ are backticks, normally on left of the 1 key.
<your pasted text>
```

No failure there, it’s able to connect to other networks with no issue. It also connects fine when I reinstall manjaro from the live usb. The network drops only when I update and only that specific network.

And…thats why you need to provide the logs after you have updated and it drops that connection.
No logs provided means only word-guessing between you and those who spend time to help you…:woman_shrugging:

It might be caused by a driver update or openssl package etc etc etc…

So please install the xclip package first then perform the commands i posted, that way ppl can see why your supplicant does not connect after that update…
