After a few mass updates ago, the recent items panel stopped working in the menu. I cant tell if it was disabled or removed. Can someone tell me how to get it back?

It was removed by the GNOME devs. The only way to get it back is maybe via an extension.
You can however drag apps to rearrange them and add them to folders.
What?! I feel betrayed.
