Just FYI, I see the thread is now closed. But my system already works fine with Nvidia. Wayland is the change that will make it not work fine. That is a Wayland issue. If KDE is changing my system to one that does not work properly anymore, that is not a problem with my hardware vendor. My hardware already works, and has worked. They shouldn’t be required to change something that works, to accommodate changes being made by KDE. It should be the other way around.
If Wayland was the problem my computer, which runs Intel GPU, would not work with Wayland, People using AMD GPUs, would find their computers not working with Wayland, and All nVidia GPUs would fail on Wayland.
The fact of the matter is
Intel GPUs work just fine with Wayland
AMD GPus work fine with Wayland
Some nVidia GPUs works fine with Wayland, and all the Open Source Drivers for nVidia work fine with Wayland.
Valve have chosen AMD GPUs for their steam Machine, because AMD GPUs work fine with wayland.
That leaves the only possible problem. nVidia’s lack of urgency to support Wayland.
That makes the problem an nVidia problem.
Every DE is moving to Wayland. GNOME, KDE, Cinnamon, XFCE, LXQt etc.
They are moving to the Wayland protocol because it is a better solution than X protocol. To begin with it defines security better than the X Protocol (which actually has no definitions for security), and makes Linux as an OS more secure.
KDE call theirs kwin
GNOME call theirs mutter
LXQt allows you to choose between Labwc, KWin, Wayfire, Hyprland, Sway, River, Niri
Enlightenment calls theirs Enlightenment
Sway calls theirs Sway
Hyprland cals theirs Hyprland
nVidia, don’t appear to have any issues making changes to their drivers to accommodate changes Microsoft have made to Windows 11.
