Ran out of HDD space while updating

Hi i ask for a friend with manjaro i log in his computer via anydesk to update/upgrade the system but in the prosses of doing that pc run out of hdd space so the computer after restart can’t load kernel. so how can i transfer to a usb or external hdd some files to make some space and after what can i do to make manjaro operasional again.
