Question about Manjaro and HP Envy x360 13-ar0022nn AMD Ryzen 5 3500U laptop

Hi all,

I am new here. I just bought new laptop , HP Envy x360 13-ar0022nn AMD Ryzen 5 3500U ,with 8 /gb RAM.

Atm using Windows 10, but I think that Windows using so many resourse as RAM, CPU , heats a lot, fans speed, battery life

Also no options to change kernel settings etc.

What I want to know, is my new laptop compatible with Manjaro linux , how to check that

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

MArko

Hello,
In principle this might help

Don't know the difference between the ag0 from the link and the ar0 model you have, so you will have to investigate a bit more.
Another resource that might help to start is here
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HP_Envy_x360_13z-ag000
but once again, there is that difference in the model, that i don't know in what exactly consists.

A definitive answer is impossible to give at this point in time as there are no sources to confirm or infirm much about your exact model.

• Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.10 GHz/3.70 GHz (6MB cache)
• Display: 13.3 "Full HD IPS LED 1920 x 1080 Touch BrightView
• Graphical system: AMD Radeon Vega 8
• Working memory: 8GB DDR4 2400MHz (onboard)
• Hard disk: 512GB SSD PCIe NVMe M. 2

That is specification about my laptop.

The simplest way to test is to download the latest ISO of Manjaro with your favorite DE, create the install media on USB, then boot the Live Media and see what is working and what not.
Take notes, report back and someone will help you out.

I tried Live media, with xfce, booted fine, but screen graphics are somehow screwed..pixelated and it take few sec to clear it, to full viewable

here is video about the problem : https://photos.app.goo.gl/Nx9TDkD3Sa7pqP9z9
