qt5ct, qt6ct, keepassxc are quitting. Running Manjaro Linux with i3, updates are installed. No missing library (checked with ldd). Problem maybe: ~ is from previous install (arcolinux). Thanx for any help!
Hello @macspyral and wlcome to the Manjaro Community! ![]()
It will of course help if you provide some system information. Could you provide the output of this Terminal command? (quick guide below):
inxi -zv8
Note that the output produced by this command is privacy-filtered.
Please also remember to use proper code formatting as this makes it much easier to read on the Forum:
[Mini How-To] format code or command output
Select and copy all the text in the Terminal window (minus the prompt, if you are using zsh).
Then paste the output in between two lines containing three backticks
```
or three tildes
~~~
Or:
Copy & paste, then highlight the pasted text and click the </> button at the top of the reply window (easier for smaller outputs).
Cheers! ![]()
Thank you for Your quick respones, output follows (hope I do it right):

Thanks. I have practically no knowledge of i3 but hopefully someone who does will see this. ![]()
I do note that neither qt5ct or qt6ct are present on my KDE Plasma system; I would also have thought the former would be obsolete by now? (I don’t have keepassxc either).
I also see you have no swap defined; likely not the issue but it’s something you might want to attend to. ![]()
It may be a good idea to start these from the Terminal and paste the output messages here. ![]()
That is an easy task: all tested Qt-Programs are quitting with a one-liner “segmentation fault (core dumped)”. No further explanation.
I have no knowledge of i3, i am an xfce user (and my keepassxc, qt5 and qt6 apps are working) but something in the user profile can indeed be the reason. Or some aur package. How is the situation with the theming, maybe you use some qt theme that is old and got removed?
To rule out the first hypothesis create one brand new test user and see if it happens there.
That was spot on. Programs are running under new user, thank You for this! So, some old stuff blocks. Well, I’ll give it a go then.
Close all open programs, clean ~/.cache/* and reboot. Let us know, if that changes anything.
Perfect, removed .cache/*, reboot, everything works fine. Thank You, too! Running with this problem for 2 months, you both solved it in one session. Great help!!!
