Pulse fails to set up audio cards

Hi,
I’ve just updated my system, rebooted and noticed there is no audio at all. Pulseaudio seems to start, but fails to create any devices except dummy one.
I’ve tried booting older kernel (5.4 LTS), but it had even more problems, but sound issues were the same.

Here’s what I get:

 ugnius@us-desktop  ~  systemctl --user status pulseaudio.service

Thanks for reading this.

Same problem here.

if you folks have pipewire-pulse/pipewire-jack/pipewire-alsa installed, un-install ONLY those optional dependencies. worked or me

I don’t know about that.

Same issue here.

#edit
replacing alsa-card-profiles with aur package alsa-card-profiles-hsphfpd worked for me. Seems like an issue is within alsa-card-profiles package.

I have none of those installed (pipewire-{pulse,jack,alsa}), just pipewire itself.

Installing alsa-card-profiles-hsphfd seems to fix things (had to install libopenaptx-git also) for now, but I would not like to depend on aur here.
Thanks for solution

check systemd socket and service for PulseAudio and Pipewire

systemctl --user --all | grep -E 'pipewire|pulseaudio'

Pipewire service should be stopped and disabled
The current beta version does not work to replace PulseAudio
No sound, Manjaro testing, NVIDIA, HDMI

PulseAudio recently updated to v13.99, so I also suggest to check if any .pacnew files were created
in /etc/pulse/ folder

ls /etc/pulse/

a .pacnew file will be created if update process detects system file has been modified
Update creates pacnew file instead of updating the file and removing user changes

If a user has made changes to /etc/pulse/daemon.conf or /etc/pulse/default.pa, changes in the pacnew file must be merged with the original configuration file

Spot on, I had some changes in daemon.conf, renamed pacnew file and did some changes I really need. Everything seems to be working now.

Thanks
