Pulse audio battery drain

Pulse audio power usage
Hey all,

I'm wondering what the standard power drainage is for pulseaudio. It seems for me, its one of the biggest factors of battery drain on my machine acccording to powertop.

I'm running Manjaro on a Thinkpad T480 with 24wh + 72wh battery configuration.

I have TLP configured.

The battery reports a discharge rate of 11.9 W
The power consumed was 254 J
The estimated remaining time is 6 hours, 25 minutes

I don't understand how or why audio can use so much power. 3.35W is a modest reading, sometimes its 4.5W. It bounces around.

Sorry, sometimes it goes up to 6.5watts

you can try commenting out the audio options in the tlp configuration and enable power savings from modprobe.d
