Problems using dual monitors in Manjaro

I’m using a notebook and another monitor. Then I use the option to extend the screen to use the system. However, sometimes out of the blue my monitor stops being recognized so I have to go to settings and enable it again. But when I enable, his image doesn’t come back. So I need to restart Manjaro for the image to come back. This problem only happens when I lock the screen. It doesn’t happen all the time, but at least it does happen once or twice a day.

It is quite inconvenient to use Manjaro with this problem happening, how can I solve it?

Hi @stlick,

In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Hope you manage!

Tip:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

Please edit your post accordingly.

Edited, thanks.

not the solution but you should check the update manager for the latest firmware updates. intel-iris is a really new hardware at the market.

Sounds like a bug with Wayland (or rather, Gnome’s wayland compositor), try starting your Gnome desktop session using Xorg, not Wayland, then see if the problem persists. Wayland is still a work in progress, and failures like this are what I’d expect to see on corner cases like lock screen, suspend, etc. If the problem is corrected, just stick with Xorg, and wait a year or so to try Wayland, stuff like this will be resolved eventually. If switching to Xorg does not resolve the issue, then there’s other problems, but that’s easiest to try, and the most likely cause.
