I installed kio and related packages once, maybe two years ago, when configuring GoogleDrive – it took only minutes to discover the Google-provided app was a piece of the proverbial – in that time the configuration has even survived one reinstallation.
Apart from that, I’ve had little exposure to kio, so guessing was my best resolve given the minimal time I had available.
However, in the process I did discover KDE had several confirmed bugs that were likely related; more prominant it seems in Debian and derivatives.
I gave up after each subsequent bug I found played the blame game, pointing to other seemingly related bugs.
