Problem changing the launcher icon

Hi, I have a problem with the application launcher icon. I cannot change it.
I tried creating my .ico, .png and .svg but when I choose in browse always keep the manjaro icon. I tried refreshing kde plasma too.

Any help?

Thanks!

Icon themes are rather convoluted beasts. They are made up of actual images (in different sizes) and of symbolic links with standardized names across the different icon themes, so that XDG-compliant themes will always use “the right icon for the right purpose”.

Except that this is not always correctly implemented, and sometimes you have to hunt down the icon by its actual name in the file chooser, instead of relying on the assumption that the symbolic link will point at the correct icon.

I would suggest an upgrade to your icon… perhaps your icon theme is affecting things, because despite stating that you have refreshed KDE Plasma, the screenshot says otherwise.

So, first step might be to create a new USER, and then try downloading a fresh icon (below) and applying that… but first just try it out without creating the new user.

Your Icon (png format)

Don’t forget to come back and mark it solved

In short, the best icons are always worth tucking away somewhere - mine go in /mnt/T4/Resources folder… and it would work perfectly well if you copied (or dragged to link) icons you’re using to your ~/.local/share/icons/ folder too.

Resistance is futile. I’m converted.

Thanks @Ben and @Aragorn for your fast reply.
The problem was the name, not the location. I renamed it to dracula-manjaro.svg (before it was manjaro.svg), and now it works perfectly.

Sorry and thanks!
