It isn’t clear to me if you are using the drivers from the AUR. It looks like this model is very old and the Canon webpage only has 32 bit drivers available. In the following link, the user has it working, but not without problems as well. It does not indicate if his issue was ever resolved.
I’ve been running Manjaro-Xfce, on my HP 64-bit laptop, since September 2019; prior to that, I had been running various versions of LinuxMint-Mate, on Lenovo 32-bit and Acer 64-bit laptops.
The printer in question is a Canon PIXMA MP640, hard wired via cat-5 ethernet cable, to my home wireless network hub. I purchased this printer eleven years ago, and it has served me well ever since, in identically the same configuration, with all three laptops.

I have tried four other linux distros but I find that none of my printers (Brother HL-5050, Hp Lazerjet 3380, Epson Lq1070 Dot Matrix Printer) work with these linux operating systems. But what about Manjaro? Would my printers work or would I have to switch back to Windows? Or what do I have to do to get the printers to work.
