Power usage in powertop doesn't add up

I have an annoying problem with power usage going up inexplicably after deep suspension or hibernation, and powertop is the first thing I looked at to understand what sucks up energy. Unfortunately, when I experience the battery drain described in the other thread I notice that what powertop measures from specific processes and devices is not compatible with the total amount of energy consumption reported by the battery. That is, the processes seem to use ~10W (which is what I get after a normal boot), but the battery is draining much faster and I can’t see why.

PowerTOP 2.13 Overview Idle stats Frequency stats Device stats Tunables WakeUp

The battery reports a discharge rate of 23.9 W
The energy consumed was 535 J
The estimated remaining time is 3 hours, 3 minutes

Summary: 1829,5 wakeups/second, 0,0 GPU ops/seconds, 0,0 VFS ops/sec and 68,6% CPU use

Based on your experience, what processes could use battery and not be picked up by powertop?

Death by a thousand cuts would be the answer to that: a lot of small little things (like kernel processes) starting and exiting and adding up to a lot in the end would be the answer to your question.

Anyway, sorry for not noticing your kernel parameters in your other question!
