Not all the time, but when opening an application or clicking a link for some reason this pop up comes on screen.
Its not the application or the link, and i can just click cancel (though i need to click it a few times) and it will go away. What is its point and how can I stop it?

Not so sure about the reason, some kind of Gnome event in XFCE? it happens to me when i open a non default web-browser (chromium or vivialdi in my case, Firefox being my default browser). You can try this:
rm ~/.local/share/keyrings/*
As they suggest in stack exchange
