On install XFCE *.iso we have the thunderbird version 128.5.1esr (64-bit). But this version will be updated automatic to version 136 and here the trouble starts: extensions stop working for example.
I had a look to “manjaro-xfce-24.2.1-241216-linux612.iso” where thunderbird version 128.5.1esr (64-bit) will be installed.
I think there are different “channels” for thunderbird monthly and esr ( yearly )

Hi @JohnML,
Something weird is going on, because:
$ pamac search --installed thunderbird
thunderbird 136.0-1 extra
Standalone mail and news reader from mozilla.org
But when you look deeper, it says 128:

So I suspect that isn’t why your extensions stopped working.
Manjaro does not support nor provide ESR versions (unless of course it already is in Arch repo).
If you require such version - you can get it from AUR
$ pamac search thunderbird-esr
thunderbird-esr-bin 128.7.1-1 AUR
Standalone Mail/News reader - binary version
Thunderbird is provided by upstream Arch Linux and it is 136.0 everywhere.

To get rid of these thunderbird troubles ( extensions ) i don’t use the repoversions of thunderbird anymore. I installed the ESR Version from thunderbird and that application updates itself
