but these references are old imho
Rather provide:
journalctl --user --no-pager --priority=warning --grep=wayland
thatās a very long list, any suggestions to shorten it?
Try:
journalctl --user --no-pager --priority=warning --grep=wayland --boot=-1
still a very long list of crashdump
journalctl --user --priority=warning --grep=wayland --boot=-1

OK, I have officially run out of knowledge. Also regarding this. In short

no worries, thanks for trying, this is a strange one for sure ..
i am on the system, so it is stable and running , except this one thing lol
It is difficult to try to troubleshoot something, if you donāt want to update to latest packages, or switch the display server for example. Troubleshooting within your imposed parameters is not efficient at all, good luck.
sorry, i canāt copy/paste a 1.7 gig file
One thing Iāll comment on ⦠and it could well be a contributing factor:
(emphasis added by me).
Even with hundreds of tabs open, Iām currently only seeing around 5G memory usage here. Although it starts leaking like a sieve when playing YouTube videos and requires a browser restart every so often, otherwise it will start getting really laggy & can sometimes cause e.g. a plasmashell crash.
yeah, noticed, Firefox is leaky, but so far, when it getās too much , i just restart it , it keeps the tabs for me, but even there, firefox seldom if ever gets oomd , and i know itās leaking. I had memory leak issues years ago with pavocontrol , fortunately that got fixed after a while
The crash looks like an assertion failure in envcan.so Canadian Weather - Environment Canada
So maybe a buggy plasmoid? I searched and got a suggestion it could be related to āweather canadaāā¦
Same issue with a clean USER?
Occasionally an update will render existing settings outdated, the same goes for plasmoids, so it might be prudent to apply the same measures we applied upgrading from Plasma 5 to Plasma 6 and do extensive housekeeping.
thanks, i do use the weather widget , but from the bbc , but i would get rid of it again for the sake of experiment, hmm, interesting catch
Environment Canada with Plasma was very crashy, but itās fixed now with Plasma 6.6.
Take a look at this:
Very simple way to create, test, remove a test user.
I had Plasma crash on me once or twice a day. Removed the weather from task bar and it havenāt crashed since. Plasma 6.5.5 here.
