Plasma-systemmonitor no longer shows I/O speed

I’m using Manjaro KDE6 on Wayland, fully updated to the latest Manjaro stable packages.
Today I noticed that in plasma-systemmonitor , the per-process network download speed is no longer displayed (upload speed still shows correctly).
At the same time, the per-process I/O speed is also missing.

I’m not sure when this issue started, but it wasn’t happening before.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or knows what might be causing it? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Now I’m temporarily using nethogs to check the network speed of processes, and using sudo iotop to check the I/O speed of processes. These two tools are working normally

I don’t understand why download would not be working when upload works. There is some discussion here which might be relevant, but it seems to be for the case where neither works.

In System Monitor, why the app-specific upload/download rates might not work? - #5 by davidre - Help - KDE Discuss

It might still be worth checking libksysguard is installed and that /usr/lib/ksysguard/ksgrd_network_helper has the correct capabilities:

getcap /usr/lib/ksysguard/ksgrd_network_helper

Or even just to ensure they are set with

sudo setcap cap_net_raw+ep /usr/lib/ksysguard/ksgrd_network_helper

Hi

Had a similar problem a couple of system updates ago. I am running both stable and testing on my desktop. An update caused both GKrellm and System monitor to no longer show network speed. Network was fine. One suggestion is to try booting into another kernel and see if the speed indication returns. A quick suggestion– use the cli “inxi” and post the results of executing this command here using the quotes to paste the inxi results so we can know what system and session type you are running to better help us help you.

:slightly_smiling_face: Welcome to the Manjaro community!

Indeed; @cyo57 the results of inxi -zv8 will be a good start

Please highlight all the Terminal output, copy and paste it here, highlight the pasted content and click the </> button at the top of the Reply window. This formats it properly for the Forum (or should do).
