Night color doesn't work

I set the night color to either “always on” or “for current location”, etc, the color never switches to the night color. I could see the night color only when I click and hold the night color temperature slider bar in the config. Any ideas?

I’m running Plasma Wayland.

wayland doesnt support it…

I have the impression that Kubuntu on Wayland has the night color working. I just migrated to Manjaro a month ago from Kubuntu 22.04.

i thought it doesnt work with wayland… im also using kde, with intel gpu, and it doesnt work with wayland …

Do you have any similar app like f.lux or redshift installed ?

Might be something to do with your configuration, because I’ve used Plasma Wayland as the sole desktop on my home PC for the past couple of years and night color (set for sunset to sunrise at my manually-entered location) has worked fine the entire time.

My CPU/GPU specs:

CPU: Intel i3-4160 (4) @ 3.600GHz
GPU: Intel 4th Generation Core Processor Family

No, I don’t have the two apps installed.

Sorry. It seems “always on” works now (at noon). I will see if the sunset setting works in the evening.

Does the GPS service succeed in pulling your approximate location like this ?

Yes, it does. I will check if it works tonight

It works now. Sorry, not sure what happened before.

I have the same problem and recognising the night colour control partially works on Wayland, after ‘sunrise’ I go to its settings and move the Day color temperature slider away from and back to Cool (no filter) and that resets the night colour control.

It takes just a few seconds, now that I know what to do, a minor irritation and inconvenience, but then it is my choice and preference to use Wayland.
