Pen not working in rnote once again following update 2025-12-08

Hello again,

Revisiting this post… Integrated Lenovo Yoga pen: button assignments wrong following update 2025-09-26

I’m having problems with my pen, this time more severe and not fixable through a rnote setting.

The pen is not working whatsoever in the program. The pen itself is being recognised on the screen → the cursor inside rnote is working and is following the pen - but clicking anywhere in the app does not work; not even the minimise/maximise/close buttons.

Rnote was not updated in 2 months and before this manjaro update everything worked.
Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X13 Gen 4
It doesn’t work with any pen - but the pen I have for testing is the integrated Lenovo pen (I tested with a pen of a friend in university)

zsh: command not found: libinput

Is this a manjaro issue or an rnote issue?
What other information do y’all need to help out.
Would love to resolve this, so I can go back to studying…

Already installed - so no need to reinstall.

If the pen is usually recognised and now it is not? You have checked in System Settings? I have no idea where the config would be located - I have a ThinkPad x13 but not as convertible.

This mention a battery - but I reckon it could be the screen - but could be the pen - seems more likely a Wacom pen.

There is several libwacom-<something> binaries, enter libwacom then hit TAB

The command libinput, the binary, is not part of
extra/libinput

It is part of
extra/libinput-tools

I don’t have any particular knowledge about the pen device, the notebook or the program rnote.

I can confirm this is not device specific. I have a different 2in1 from a different brand and have been facing the exact same issue.

It has to be some library that sits between KDE plasma and rnote, but since my update was 14gigs of installed size (it’s been a while since the last pacman -Syu call) I would have quite a few packages to try downgrading. xD

Fixed by downgrading gtk4 and libadwaita

downgrade gtk4 to 1:4.18.6
downgrade libadwaita to 1:1.7.7

Problem will hopefully be gone when gtk4 updates and everything works as expected…
