PC with dual boot Manjaro/Windows opens directly Windows

Do you have Secure Boot enabled? If so, disable it. Manjaro does not support that.

I’ve Secure Boot and Fast Startup disabled.

Are you sure it’s completely disabled in Windows? … by running powercfg /h off in an elevated Command Prompt.

Yes, I ran that command and now I’m sure it’s disabled

What should I do to see the output of efibootmgr?

sudo efibootmgr

… will display the current entries.

It has a man page…

sudo efibootmgr -o 0001,0004,2001,2002,2003

Two months ago I did set up Acer v15 Windows and Linux on the same disk.
but I did have to switch up some Bios settings to make it work. I think for having the Boot order showing, you have to check up the Bios setting as well.

I ran that command, rebooted… and then Windows booted

Then I’m afraid I cannot offer you any more advice, sorry. :man_shrugging:

Now I’ve run efibootmgr and the order didn’t change because it’s 0004,0001,2001,2002,2003

Then you must have some write protection enabled in the UEFI boot manager. You’ll need to go into the settings and disable that. Then boot into Manjaro, run the command again, and then you can set the write protection back on in the UEFI settings if you wish.

This? [Fixed] "No Bootable Device" Error After Installing Ubuntu

Not the same model but pretty sure they don’t change their ■■■■■■ BIOS often and keep doing the same things. Even if it seems to make no sense about Secure Boot, just try to follow the instructions and see if you can see and set Manjaro as first boot device in the Boot options list.

Maybe just try the part where you set a BIOS password to allow some menus to appear first.

I’ve tried but still boots Windows. I found this discussion [SOLVED] How can I change the EFI boot order with efibootmgr? / Newbie Corner / Arch Linux Forums , could it help me? I don’t want to deactivate some boot loader because I’m not sure if it’s risky or not.

Now with that operation I can’t open BIOS because PC is stuck at Acer logo

Any information about what you did? What happened?

7 minutes later

what did you do?

I’ve done the operation of the link you’ve sent. I have selected as trusted for execution grubx64.efi but now I can’t access BIOS. And it still opens Windows.

Last time, what did you do? Make sentences, explain exactly. We’re not in your head, we don’t have your computer.
