Recently I had to downgrade cinnamon because of a breaking change.
My question is what accommodation has been made for that problem? I mean I definitely want to stay on stable but it could be months before the offending release has been superseded. In the meantime (and in this case) related packages may continue to update finally breaking against the older release I can not allow to update.
Maybe a temporary “patch/fix” is released as an AUR or a “patch” in stable? I imagine this kind of thing happens so what is the solution until the superseding release makes it to stable? (supposedly stable has enough delay to catch this kind of thing in this case it didn’t)
