Pamac not updating - transaction_interface_daemon.vala:58

Just recently pamac stopped working on my system. I get this error:

** (pamac:16371): WARNING **: 07:23:22.426: transaction_interface_daemon.vala:58: failed to connect to dbus daemon: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner: Could not activate remote peer 'org.manjaro.pamac.daemon': startup job failed

Error: Daemon Error: remove_authorization: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner: Could not activate remote peer 'org.manjaro.pamac.daemon': startup job failed

I seem to still be able to update with pacman and the flatpak updater. I tried refreshing my mirrors as well, but not sure what else to try. The same error occurs in the GUI and Terminal.

Here is some system information:

Thanks!

How long has this issue been occurring? Have you rebooted since you last ran an update?

It happened a couple of weeks ago. Sorry I forgot to mention, yes I also tried rebooting and doing a shut down/power on. I had a look through the forums for issues with a similar error but a reboot hasn’t fixed it in my case unfortunately.

Any other ideas?

You might check something like

sudo pacman -Qqk

Sorry I was away for a few days. I just tried running that command but it gives no output. Should it?

No output is good.

Please try;

sudo pacman -Syu libpamac

That’s fixed it, thanks a lot! The pacman command did a system upgrade of a bunch of packages too, then I ran pamac and it upgraded a couple of AUR things. Now if I re-run pamac it says there’s nothing to do - no errors. Thanks again :slight_smile:
