:fire: 5.10 troubles here, too, and they started ever since the kernel came out. I switched back to 5.9 for a week or so before trying to get back on 5.10 after an update, and the problem persists. On most, but not all, boots on 5.10, booting into the desktop (past the login menu) takes a long time…

I personally get a kernel panic with my 5700 XT with kernel 5.10. Going to wait for the next version to get released into Stable. There are newer versions in testing and unstable if you’re interested.

What do you mean by “mainline”? : o Also, I thought 5.10 is an LTS kernel. That makes all this super surprising, since they’re supposed to be the most rock solid.

Sorry, I mean mainline as the newest in the series. It’s how kernel.org calls it. I do find it interesting that Kernel 5.10 isn’t called longterm on this website yet.

Update: :small_blue_diamond: these problems also happen on 5.10.* on Arch :small_blue_diamond: and do not seem to happen on kernel 5.11 :partying_face:

I was running 5.10. My hard disk light was on almost continously. I went back to 5.4 and the problem is solved.
