Pacman/yay not upgrading KDE Plasma v5.23.5 to 5.24.1?

Hello Friends:

My Manjaro is not updating to the latest Plasma version.

The official plasma-desktop package is at version 5.24.1: Arch Linux - plasma-desktop 5.24.1-1 (x86_64)

When I run: $ sudo pacman -Sy plasma-desktop, it tells me that plasma-desktop version 5.23.x is up to date (which it’s not according to the package repo link above):

So I promptly Google ‘manjaro packages not updating’ which turns up an old forum thread titled : [SOLVED] No updates after Manjaro upgrade - Newbie Corner - Manjaro Linux Forum

The first reply recommends running $ sudo pacman-mirrors -f5 && sudo pacman -Syyuwhich I try but the available plasma-package option is still behind the official repos.

I found another forum thread titled : Cant update packages

This one @Aragorn recommends running:

sudo rm -f /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5
pamac update

But that didn’t solve my issue either.

I am clearly missing something here.

How do I upgrade to the latest version of plasma-desktop?

plasma-desktop 5.24 is currently only in the unstable branch, according to your profile you are on stable.

See Manjaro - Branch Compare

Not sure why you’re looking at Arch packages if you are using Manjaro.

Just remember: Manjaro is not Arch!

Yikes!

I guess I need to either change my package configuration settings to unstable or give Arch a try.

Thank you all for clarifying.
